This book is a valuable asset teaching storytelling of the Bible beyond the basics.  For those who misunderstand storytelling as Bible stories that you tell your children as they fall asleep, this book will open your eyes to understand that there are other cultures, oral cultures that would not receive the Bible and ultimately Jesus as their Savior without a storytelling method .  The authors tell of experiences by individuals who received the gospel because of stories and it tells how Christian movements are beginning throughout the world using stories that people repeat.   While there are other “Bible Storying” books (such as the one pictured below) by these authors, this particular one is aimed at the church planter.  The book is largely divided into two parts, the first, containing four chapters, “Equipping the Storyer” including a section of having a vision of church planting, “Understanding the Setting” that speaks to worldviews and worship patterns, “Developing the Strategies” including initial and church planting strategies, and “Selecting the Stories” from evangelism to church plant.

The second section of the book is a list of helpful and practical appendixes explaining different worldviews, cultures and resources.

The following book Basic Bible Storying, as well as the book reviewed, are vital resources and highly recommended for Bible storying.

    • Dear Isaac Iambo, I, too, am a zealous church planter. We live in Bolivia and plant churches among the Aymara people who live in villages and do not know our Christ. I will be sharing many more resources here. God bless you in your work.

    • , “Many false prophets are gone out into the world”. The word to give a desnfee comes from the word “Apologia” That is a Classical Greek term appears in the Koine (i.e. common) Greek of the New Testament. The Apostle Paul employs the term apologia in Paul’s Letter to the Philippians as he is defending the gospel ( ), and in believers must be ready to give an answer for their faith. The word also appears in the negative in : unbelievers are ???????????? (anapolog?toi) (without excuse, desnfee, or apology) for rejecting the revelation of God in creation. Our restorers pioneers Alexander Campbell et al. were apologetics debaters always the debates is between “ the truth and the lie” (Opposite views). We see the example “14 And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light. 15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works.” (). Other example are the demons of the adversary of God in “19 You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe—and tremble!” but they don’t live the word of God. We believe that the truth of God prevail talking the truth in Love (, ). There are sincere believer in the denominations as the example of Apollos before become a Christian the Scripture says “26 So he began to speak boldly in the synagogue. When Aquila and Priscilla heard him, they took him aside and explained to him the way of God more accurately.” (). For sure we are concerned for those those who have not heard the Gospel in his purity. Those new souls has been added to the book of life and are new babe in Christ. () now they are sure about their salvation.
